New Safety Regulations for Roof Space Work
As of January 1, 2025, new safety regulations will be in effect for work performed in or around domestic roof spaces in Queensland.
What does this mean for you?
These new regulations are designed to protect workers and ensure your safety. Here’s what you can expect:
- Increased Safety Standards: Our technicians will be required to follow stricter safety protocols, including risk assessments and safety plans.

This new requirement applies to all:
- types of work including plumbing, pest control, insultation activities, gas fitting, roof and ceiling repair, and electrical work (including air-conditioning installation),
- situations where any part of a persons body enters the roof space,
- homes, duplexes, apartments, town houses, sheds, garages, guest houses, small hostels and boarding houses.

How can you help?
You can play a crucial role in ensuring a safe working environment by:
- Knowing Your Fuse Box: Familiarise yourself with the location of your fuse box.
- During The Power Outage: Please be understanding of the need to turn off the power before our tradespeople enter your roof space. This will help reduce risks and expedite the work.
