To obtain a certificate, a licensed Master Plumber must visit your property to physically test the flow rates of all taps and showerheads. If the property meets the RTA standards (less than 9L/min for taps and showers and no leaking toilets), we issue a formal Water Efficiency Certificate that allows you to pass on water costs to tenants.
While the RTA doesn’t set a strict “expiry date,” a new certificate is highly recommended at the start of every new tenancy. This provides fresh evidence that the property was compliant at the time the lease was signed, protecting the landlord in the event of a dispute.
If a fixture exceeds the 9L/min limit or a leak is found, our plumbers provide upfront and fixed pricing to rectify the issue right away. Because we often carry a wide range of water-saving aerators and parts, we can usually fix the problem and issue the certificate during the same visit.
