Stay safe in the ceiling space
The Queensland Government have launched their latest electrical safety campaign aimed at increasing safety in home ceiling spaces. The campaign slogan ‘Stay safer up there, switch off down here’ encourages homeowners, residents and tradespeople to turn off at the main switchboard before entering the ceiling crawl space.
Look out for the brochures and stickers in your local paper and the Sunday Mail issued to accompany the television advertising all this month. Place the handy stickers on the manhole cover and your home’s main switchboard to remind anyone going into the ceiling to turn off all the main power switches, even if you are not planning on doing any electrical work up there.
Electrical Safety in Brisbane
As an extra precaution, Fallon Solutions recommends taping off the main switch and placing a clear note in the power box alerting other people in the house that you are in the ceiling space and not to switch the power on under any circumstances.
