What you should check first

According to the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC), hot water system replacements are classified as regulated notifiable work, meaning they must be formally logged by a licensed professional to protect property insurance.

If you are experiencing an issue with low water temperature from your hot water system, the tempering valve may be the cause of this. According to hot water guidelines from energy.gov.au, water must be stored at a minimum of 60°C to halt microbial growth but delivered to taps at a maximum of 50°C to prevent scalding, making accurate valve alignment vital.

In gas hot water systems, low temperatures can be the result of a broken gas heater, which will require a qualified gas fitter to repair.
