What is a “Back-to-Back” Installation?

You will often see split system air conditioner installations advertised as “Back-to-Back”. This is the standard installation method where the indoor unit is mounted on an external wall, and the outdoor unit is placed directly behind it on the ground or a bracket.

Why is this popular?

Cheaper: It uses minimal copper piping and cabling (usually under 3 metres).
Faster: The installation is straightforward and usually takes 3-4 hours.
Neater: No unsightly pipes running across your external walls or through your roof space.

I was running about ten minutes late when he arrived, and he was kind enough to wait for me, which I really appreciated. Once I got there, he came straight in, got down to business and took the time to properly understand the issue.

Damien was extremely thorough, checking the meter, switchboards and even getting up into the ceiling to locate the fuses and trace the problem. He clearly explained what the issue was, what would be required to fix it, and organised a quote on site to be sent through to the landlord for approval.

He then worked with me to find a suitable date and time to come back and have everything rectified.

The whole process was smooth, friendly and professional. Damien was helpful, informative and clearly knows his stuff. I really appreciated the level of care and professionalism and would happily recommend him and Fallon Solutions.
